This was a tough one for me, for several reasons. I Painted it for one of my former flying students who now flies these beautiful, capable Beechcraft 1900's in Alaska. This scene depicts some of the crazy stuff they get to do on their days off and empty legs, like flying low passes over beautiful alpine lakes. The painting gave me trouble from the start. I made it from imagination so I had no photo for reference. I changed the trees ten times. I didn't know what to do with the left side of the painting. Somehow, it all came together in the end.
