This was a tranquil scene of a DeHavilland Beaver airplane, on floats, on a smooth lake just as spring is coming on. Snow is still visible in the mountains, and most of the trees are still bare from winter. The Beaver is a workhorse of the mountains, and it is flown extensively in Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, the Rockies and Tetons, and into Canada. The best color for the Beaver- in my opinion- is orange.
