A commission, painted for my friend Tim, who currently owns this historic airplane. It is a painting of "The Arctic Tern," a 1948 Cessna 140 owned and flown by famed bush pilot, Bud Helmericks throughout northern Alaska beginning in the late 1940's. Together with his wife, Bud flew this tiny airplane in the most forbidding weather and remote areas on the planet. It was a joy to paint this historic airplane in its natural habitat.
