This oil painting hearkens back to the golden age of space. It is done with the inspiration of the great space artist, Chesley Bonestell, who painted the greatest space scenes of all time. His paintings that appeared in Colliers and a zillion space books at the time, inspired me greatly. This scene depicts Disney's iconic "Moonliner" rocket (sponsored by TWA at the time) on the surface of an unknown planet. Exploration is in progress, and the Moonliner is far from home in the darkness of the planet.
